This training device has been specially developed for percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and allows the safe and realistic learning of this therapy method in urology.

The system simulates a patient in the prone position showing the appropriate body section for the procedure. An internal training module with an integrated kidney body, the overlying skin layer and a special filling medium in between, make it possible to perform all surgical techniques up to and including the extraction of the kidney stones.

From locating and puncturing with or without ultrasound support, via dilating of the puncture channel to the subsequent stone extraction and / or stone fragmentation with their different techniques, the PCNL trainer offers the unique opportunity to learn and train all required individual steps in a practical and realistic way.

Due to the soft and flexible materials, the puncture of the renal cavity system and the subsequent dilation of the channel can be easily performed.

Renal calyx stones and a renal pelvic stone are already present in the kidney. An external access to the renal pelvis allows the insertion of a balloon ureteral catheter.

Depending on the wear, the inner part of the training module is simply replaced after the procedure and then ready for the next usage.

Therefore, follow-up costs and downtime can be reduced to a minimum.
